How to select the ball screw?

The ball screw is composed of screw, nut and ball. Ball screw's function is to convert rotary motion into linear motion, which is a further extension and development of ball screws. The important significance of this development is to change the bearing from sliding motion to rolling motion. 

Because of its small frictional resistance, ball screws are widely used in various industrial equipment and precision instruments. Ball screw is the most commonly used transmission element on machine tools and precision machinery.  

The main function  of  ball screw is to convert rotary motion into linear motion or torque into axial repetitive force, which has the characteristics of high precision, reversibility and high efficiency.

The common method of ball screw installation: screw fixed, nut rotation mode, make the nut rotate while moving axially along the fixed screw. The inertia of the nut is small, the movement is flexible, and the achievable speed is high. Because the lead screw does not move, various problems that occur when the slender ball screw is running at high speed and the problem of being restricted by the critical speed can be avoided.
